How to Complete AMCAS

As soon as you get the secondary, do your best to get it back to them with quality answers as soon as possible.

So with your old AMCAS mapping your entire pre-med plan and all of the materials you have acquired from your labors (MCAT scores, transcript, etc) you are ready to start applying to medical school.

We are all about maximizing your odds of getting into medical school. In order to do that, make sure that you are applying after you have your MCAT scores verified in your hand. You are going to allocate at least one and a half months to filling out your AMCAS primary come application time so please plan accordingly.

For your extra-curriculum, make sure to include all important activities, volunteer work, clinical experience, and paid work. Put your best activities in the front and give a good description of your involvement. They do read these!

In general you will want to have your AMCAS primary sent to medical schools as soon as possible. The reason you want to send it in a soon as possible is to maximize your chance of getting a secondary. The longer they see it, the more likely they will send you the secondary. Also, you might get them at a time when hardly anyone else has sent a primary. They might immediately send you a secondary. You want this secondary because it will allow them to have a greater picture of you. This game is about giving them the most detailed picture as possible. It changes you from a number to a genuine person with emotions and feelings like them.
