How you can get into medical school: Conclusion

 

 

As we come to an end of our discussion together, I hope you now see how many options you have. Hopefully with this new knowledge, you have realized that you can get into medical school and are not fearful of the future. Also, I hope these options have shown you that being premed and being happy aren’t mutually exclusive.

 

Following I have described an ideal plan, which incorporates all of the principles I have mentioned. You can use this plan to summarize some of the general principles.

 

1st year

All General Education Requirements including Spanish

Intro to Statistics

Auditing Chemistry/physics/biology

Research (10 hours a week).

 

1st year summer

1 year physics

Research (10 hours a week)

 

2nd year

General Chemistry

Research

 

2nd year summer

1 year organic chemistry with lab

Research (10 hours a week)

 

3rd year

Biology

Any classes you want or need. Hopefully things you enjoy that won’t take as much time as science.

Personal statement compilation

MCAT Studying

Take MCAT August.

 

3rd years summer/4th year

Applying

Happy classes

Upper Division Biology

 

 

 

 

I hope this guide has proven helpful to you. However, don’t read it and throw it in the trash. Use it as a workbook. Use it as a reference. Constantly revisit the principles, tips, and options I have described. They will make more sense as you have more experience. Good luck to you and congratulations for choosing medicine as a career.
